Can the crystal be remove?

#1 Post by rrtek »

Hello,

Does anybody know if the crystal (what you touch with the pen) can be replaced or it's glued to the front case?

I'm talking about this:

If you are not worried about saving it, I'm sure you can remove it.
Probably need to heat the edges lightly. Then pry gently using a tool like this.

Then even if you can remove it you won't be able to find a replacement, as I can't see the part in the exploded views. :(

You can get it as a kit but my guess it will cost a lot more than what you paid for it.

So, is this the "external crystal"? Do you know if it comes with adhesive to stick it?
E9-1 appears as AR film? What does AR stand for?

I've also seen the abbreviation RTL for some parts, what does it stand for?
Regards.
