You and I both returned GB-3's that were in poor condition. Be interesting to see what the seller will do with them now ....

If it has only a plastic for internal let me know I have still spare radom black covering for sarantel. And yes! you can replace by a longer coax.

Teo , have you put one of these in the top before because there is no room unless you do some cutting . It can't go inside / back of the LCD because it will not get a signal if I am right. The antenna seams to be a little big

Blair! for the last three years I've abondoned on using that antena on CF-18. If you use that on top of LCD, It require a lot work and not worth it, coz it is to fragile. As of to date I use the taoglas antena, the 25dB with size of only 10mm X 10mm X 6mm which is perfect on CF-18/19 on top or the side plastic covering. The sarantel antena that you have will be perfect for GD Xr-1 if that is the sarantel S active antena or even on CF-28 and CF-29 but again. It needs a lot of work. Let em know how I can help.

I beleived its an active sarantel antena and the connector on the module will be the standard u.fl connector. Maybe "Ken" can confirm that coz he has the same module.

I see you have been busy since I left for work, lol.

I went to put the Gobook 2 GPS in my CF-19 two day ago. It won't fit because of the height of the card. You would have to cut or remove the metal plate dividing the express card slot above it to get it to fit properly.

This CF-19 is really nice shape and I plan on using it with my ASUS XG STATION, after I get windows 7 sorted out on it, so I will need the express card slot. I have 3 other units (cf-19 mk1) at home that are a little beat up but will work fine for some cut modding. This will probably be a problem on the CF-30 too. I didn't bring mine this time to work to double check. This still looks perfect for a older toughbook CF-25,27,28,29,18 that has the slot cover. It would just take up both pcmcia slots.

I waited too long and didn't order another unit so it looks like I am going to have to wait to get that second GPS unit. (Gobook 2 type)

Teo, On the factory antenna what do you thing about drilling the factory CF-18/19 GPS antenna hole out just big enough to slide the sarantel antenna though then putting a factory GPS cover over it.

Damn, I should've gotten one of those. That gps is looking mighty interesting. It almost feels like the yanks wont ship to Sweden just out of spite. Just to annoy me. Didn't really care enough to get around it. Big mistake... Anyway, i got the house in Britain sorted so all of me shipping troubles seem to have vanished, a week too late... :violent:

This guy has two right now, I am trying to get one of them, they have hard drives in them. gobook 3

My CPU came in so I am going to see how they handle the 2.0 or 2.1 Pentium m, haven't decided how I am going yet.

That seller just dumped a lot of 40+ of those GB-3 models. I was watching it, got to over $500 so too rich for my blood but someone got a boat-load of GB-3's.

I ran across something interesting last night about the video drivers for the Gobook 3. I replaced my oldest sons CF-28 with the Gobook 3 I had with the broken GPS unit. He needed something rugged that he could take to his mom's house that had good sized processor and good graphics card. Well with the ATI 9000 being in the Gobook 3 that worked out well. He was playing around with Kubuntu on it and decided he wanted windows xp on it. We loaded it up last night and he tried to play Minecraft with it. It wouldn't play. You would start it and it would crash while loading. I know it shouldn't be a issue with that graphics card because my other son has a Mk3 CF-73 with 1.7 Pentium M and ATI 9000 and it plays fine with the stock Panasonic driver. So I went to the OMEGA DRIVER site and downloaded there legacy 3.8 version driver that is fully unlocked and you can adjust the settings how you want. I didn't even have to tweak the setting to get it to work, Minecraft worked on the first click. I am guessing Itronix has the driver turned down some by default.
