Woot! :pbjt: I've hacked the code on this unit for the installation of EM408 Gps engine. Those dam.. gen dynamics think they can hide there schematic forever. Well! here we go, in a few days it will be complete. I just need 8 pin hirose connector. After an hr. of trial and error finally the Gps viewer see it and the data is streaming beautifully.

The installation will be at the top of LCD where there is wide space. Its good to have an active sarantel antena but unfortunately JGD is no longer selling those antena. Time to search again. Anybody knows where can we get those sarantel antena?

Picture will be soon after I complete the installation.

I am presenting the new Itronix Gobook XR-1, Fully customized with the exepmtion of bluetooth. It will be next. For your comment. It has 20Channel Gps engine couple with taoglas antena, 2.0Ghz Cpu T2500, 2gig RAM, Two battery(main and at media bay, no CD rom). Painted due to scratches and chip off paint for better look.

The sattelite signal is just for a minute coz its cold outisde on my porch which is covered and sorrouned by 4 story apartment.

For your comment and suggestion. I'd still have two XR-1 to mod. I already have one T2600, 2.13ghz cpu for the other and the other will be waiting. Maybe the T2700, 2.33ghz.

The step of how I done it without talkies will be based on the photo until "Rob" x'fer this section dedicated for Gobook.

Here we go:

Looks great! That EM-408 seems to be performing very well with the patch antenna. Do you think it would do any better with a Sarantel?

Thanks, guys! for the complements. I don't wanna publish the pinout on an open forum. Maybe when times right I can but for now let it be this way. You know that itronix is so notorious in terms of support. They always not share to anybody else or to a third or fourth party user.

I am going to be moving all the GD Itronix stuff to a dedicated forum here on TBT... I can make a hidden section too if you'd like...

Thoughts/opinions?
