FZ-G1 swap MC8305 for MC7750

#1 Post by chris3816 »

I currently own a FZ-G1 that has a MC8305. I would like to switch it to a MC7750 for Verizon 4G LTE. Is there anything in particular I need to look out for? I see some people saying things about laptop-manufacturer branded cards vs unlocked. I'm not sure what applies to me.

Thanks,

Chris

Get a card from a Panasonic.. Nothing else will work.
I hope the OS / firmware recognizes the different card. Can't know this until you try it.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! Yes I did speak with Rob via e-mail. Going to get a quote from him to see how much it would be. Got the unit off of ebay, seller said it had a wwan card but didn't specify (and at that time wasn't planning on using wwan).

Interesting... just because I can I pulled the battery out. Just noticed under the battery is a different Model number. That one says FZ-G1AAAZXZZ. Serial number is off by one character in the middle ( 's' vs 'a'). Hmm...

PC Information Viewer states info I originally posted.

FZ-G1AAAZXZZ

Usually the numbers with Z's at the end are "base unit" numbers. The number gets changed with the added options
