I just got my mark4, love this TB!

My question is what Topo Mapping software is there that will work with the OEM GPS. I have been dinking around with TopoFusion, however I cannot seem to get it to recognize the OEM GPS. Any suggestions.

For navigating, I use MapFactor.

There are multiple OEM gps devices. Which one are you using?
Both my cf19s (mk3,mk6) contain Leadtek LR9548S, which speak NMEA on com3 with 4800baud.

Are you able to use the GPS with other tools, e.g. "GPS viewer"?
Is your GPS enabled in BIOS?
Did you check if some other application (e.g. Windows Location Service or GPSd) already uses/blocks
the serial interface?
Did you double-check your topofusion gps settings? http://topofusion.com/manual.php#preferences

Ok finally had a chance to sit down and play with the app a little more, managed to get the program to finally recognize my gps on board. I had to use Magellan on com2 but it worked.

Not so sure about the program, however it does not appear to do what it claims it can. I will look into it more before making final judgement.

If you know of anyother software you recommend checking out that would be awesome.

The folks over at OpenStreetMap seem to rely on their very own JOSM application for Windows / Linux / Mac.
Be aware that it is "by geeks for geeks", e.g. it scales to planet-size and offers all the features you'll never need,
but you'll need to climb the learning curve, including howto setup a gpsd server and install/configure the LiveGPS plugin.

This is the basic howto:

Simpler solutions probably exist, depending on your usecase.

 Holy Chit! lol yeah that is going to be a learning curve alright lol.

Are you familiar with an app called tacnav that is available for the iPhones and Androids? That would be an almost perfect program.

I am not familar with that program.

I can recommend OSMAnd, which is a really good navigation software for Android.
(way better than gmaps - used it on a 2month bicycle tour back in 2015)
OSMAnd also offers gps track recording and some limited editing/mapping functionality.

I have only used it for navigation purposes, not for editing stuff, so I can't really comment on that.
