CF-19 MK4 CF-19VMRFX2M

#1 Post by Watchdogmp »

Hi Guys,

still happy with my CF-30 but just got a CF-19 MK4 CF-19VMRFX2M. GPS is already installed but need to install a proper software and U-Block

I would like ton install a Gobi 2000 card but not sure which one to get under Rogers or Bell (canada).

Also, i'm looking to install a fingerprinit reader but just can't find the proper parts.

Which Bios is the most recent one on FTP.Panasonic.com??

Thanks

I live in Canada but the price was way too high so I never did find out which card I needed...sorry

That first one is missing the FFC. Very short cable that may be tough to find.

The second one looks complete.

Fingerprint readers are not bad to install in a CF19. They are tough to install in a CF30 or CF31.

Matt at Proton will not intentionally "do you wrong".

My opinion.

This model of Toughbook cf-19 has no wireless Lan, Bluetooth and its bracket. It is federal issue model.

You will need a half mini pcie wireless card(I believed an intel 6200 will be fine). Bluetooth module and its bracket. You can also installed a WWAN but you need to activate it by SPGOBI2K unlocker.

Hi Teo,

what do you mean it,s a federal issue? Mine was 110 Hrs only.

I ordered a 6205 wifi card.

For Bluetooth, I have installed it but not working. I think the cable is not going deep enough in the connector.

What is SPGOBI2k unlocker. Cant seem to find that on Google.

Thanks

Teo is saying that the unit was originally setup and sold to a branch of the US federal government. Has nothing to do with the hours on the clock. The bluetooth might be locked out in the BIOS. I think I have the spgobi2k program. I will check later when I have time.

I have not dealt with a federal issued Toughbook so I can't say for sure, but you might have to flash the BIOS with a non-federal image to get all the wireless working.

Can you get into the BIOS?

Intel 6205 will not show up in the BIOS. You need a real 6200 to show up on a mk4. If wifi is already enabled in the BIOS, Windows will see the 6205 and it will work. Otherwise you need a 6200 card so you can go into the BIOS and enable the wifi.
I just did this 2 weeks ago.

Do you have the correct white flat cable for bluetooth? Is it installed the proper direction?
