My "NEW" beater CF-19K

Last time home I picked up a CF-19K. It was cheap, but it was beat to hell. I just about put all of it in a CF-19 Mk1 case but after looking and seeing even though it had broke spots the rubber water seals weren't broken around the screen and with a new bottom on the Mk3 original chassis. This also saved me trying to swap over the touchscreen.

So with dips, breaks, etc I fixed what was needed. Screen swivel parts, new top holder for the screen swivel lock the old one was busted, new bottom to seal it from a Mk1 (had to remove a plastic part for it to fix. The wiring to the screen the green antenna wire had damage on it's coating so I black tapped that, the white wire was tore in half so I replaced it with a CF-18 antenna( Mk3 antenna end was broke in half to allow install of the 18 antenna.). Back tracking all of those wires are a pain. By this time I could tell someone had been inside it before to "fix" it.

Right now to make sure everything worked after having to pull the motherboard I dropped in a CF-18 battery and a caddy I have with Mint 15 for testing. Touch works, sound works, so It looks like it's going to be ok. So now I have a new beater to replace my really nice Mk3 I had before someone made me a offer I couldn't refuse.

I will be upping the ram, dual booting ubuntu and 7, and dropping a SSD into it, but the SDD may have to wait as all I think I have left are 40gb units.

Anyone need the gobi2000 card? I won't be needing it.

I have 3 CF19 mk3 motherboards.
Might as well up those mk1 and mk2's to a mk3.

If I did up them don't they have to have the led screen because of the voltage coming from your wiring harness? Do the harnesses swap? This was the first time I swapped between Mk3 to a lesser Mk.

Do you need Gobi's West Coaster? I have a 1000 and a 2000.

From what I found, I think the CF19 mk3 motherboard swap would at a minimum need a lcd harness.

Teo?

Ok, I have Lcd harnesses, but I don't have any more LED harnesses. I had to fix the one on this machine.

Hell I may have more than one gobi card, let me look. I am sure I have pulled several out and never used them.

The units I have left is project phonix mk2 (been in a box and needing only to be reassembled for 3 years now), Mk2 digitizer with busted screen. Mk1 with dead touch, Mk1 I think touch works. Two Mk1 motherboards, two mk2 motherboards, two bottom cases from you shawn that I have been robbing for parts last night, lol.

. Both Mk2's will be first, then may try to screw together a beater mk2 for the oldest boy for obd2 stuff and for LT1 edit for his 1993 camaro.

Hoping this will clear out the CF-19 pile and I will just sell/trade/give away what is left. Then on to the newer 19 models, lol.

Rehab is for quiters.

Haven't been back on the 52 yet, will tomorrow. Worked on the comet again today, straighting out wiring and doing the crimps connections right. Got the tri gauge kit working fully. Cranks and runs good now. Only major stuff like paint left to do is fix the cancer in the floorboard. We pulled the carpet and found it.

After that I pulled the tarp off my 4x4 to crank it and run it around some and the engine was locked up. I had kept a trash bag over the carb and air cleaner because where the hood and cowl Joins on 1980-95 ford pickups is right over the carb and if the seal is bad water leaks in. Well the bag was missing and with all the rain we have had it got it. Wound up pulling all the plugs and spraying wd40 inside and letting it set. Still couldn't get it with the breaker bar, but did get it to break loose with the starter. Got some in the oil pan too so it's draining out tonight and going to get it ready to be started up tomorrow.

Then back to the 52, lol.

Pulled the top from a working Mk1 to drop into a digitizer Mk2, put the digitizer stuff and just unhooked the touch. Got it all back together and the screen has lines in it. Crap, got to get a new screen now, lol.

Upgraded the Mk2 CF-52 that had the bios password and disabled wifi with a new high resolution screen and Mk2 high spec motherboard with ATI 3650 card. Well wifi now works but the dam video card in it is flashing green as soon as I start it up and even in bios so the video card is screwed.

Got one Mk1 back working minus touch, going to the oldest boy for OBD stuff so no big loss.

Go one more Mk2 to put back together, lets see if this one blows up or not, lol. At least the pile is narrowing down now.

It's add GPS time to the beater CF-19. I have three different units. Factory mK1 Sony GXB5005 12 channel unit, Mk2 LeadTek LR9548S 20 channel and from my CF-30 Mk1 I sold I have a custom toughbooks GPS. Looking at his web site just the gps board that part looks like his 19 kit with out the CF-30 daughterboard plugged it so it should just plug and play like the others. Even his part numbers match. It's a ublox 6 50 channel unit.

Anyone did a VS on these before? I am trying to decide what unit to use. Most likely it will be the Mk2 or custom unit.
