Well learned that the screen is a pitb to access. But it was a good learning experience. Looks like there's a little cut on the back of the screen so hitting flea bay for replacement. Not going to worry too much about the touch aspect for this unit. More for tossing in the bikes saddle bags and using when camping type stuff. Wheeeeeeeee, this might be fun.LOL.

Ok. The cf-19chbaxbm that has a damaged screen toes have touch. It kicked in once I changed it to internal monitor from external. Now I have to go back in and disable it.
Ok I turned it back to external and it still has functioning touch. Need to disable it. Where it's damaged on the backside, it is causing the cursor to go back to same location. Regardless of what I am doing. Going to have to go inside and mechanically disable the touch. :violent:

Double check and make sure that there is not just a goober stuck in the small gap between the screen and the case. Look particularly close wherever the cursor wants to go. A toothpick makes a good edge cleaning tool.

I'll recheck while I'm in there. But plan is that as soon as I am sure what leads to unplug, they get unplugged. I haven't gotten used to touch screen yet so no big loss to me. I don't even like the track pad, I use a wireless track ball. But until I get control of the cursor the whole things just a pretty paper weight. :)

I think I'm going to try a full build with W7basic as the os. Not Pro or ultimate or even home prem. Just to see how it goes. I'd LOVE to use an "N" version. But I believe the copy of Pro "N" that I have on file was actually corrupt. The "N" versions originally do not have alot of the crap that the main stream installs have. Like win player.

(edited) Well strike that basic notion. Remembered that it wouldn't be able to do the run in compatible thing that a Pro or Ulti can. So here goes my great learning experience.

And so far, the biggest thing about any of my 19's that bugs me is how warm they get when running movies or Minecraft. I have only been using them in Linux so far. One ought to be able to safely assume that Wdoze won't be better. Yes they run quite warm in either 64 or 32 bit with my max of 4gb ram.

Still having fun with them. :boing:

Ok. Here's an update. Right now, as I type, I am installing 64 bit W8.1 on a CF-19FHGAXAM. This is a CLEAN install. Not an upgrade from W7 or anything. At this very minuet I am running the Panasonic Driver Installer v1.2.4 19FGH-MK2-7X64 . Have the MK3 and MK7 listed installers as well. Grabbed the MK7 because someone had posted some success with the drivers from it.
And awaaaayyyyyyy we goooooo..........

Recently fell into a few ssd's, so redoing the FHGAXAM install. This time starting with a fresh vista image. Once I get that all set right I'll upgrade it to W-7. Probably Pro in 64 bit. Then I'll probably make it dual boot with Watt. Kinda taken a liking to it.

The 19MK2 runs W7 32bit very well. Not sure about about the 64bit. I myself would want more than 4GB memory if I was going to run 64bit.

To obtain performance equal to or better than 32bit from 64bit you must have 6gb ram min. 8gb seems to be a sweet spot by most reports.
Life will beat you into submission.
