Bluetooth upgrade on Mk1

#1 Post by mobilemedic01 »

I have a CF-19CHBAXBM

I would like to upgrade to a higher speed Bluetooth device, 3.0 or 4.0

i have not tore it apart looking for a bluetooth adapter today :) what type of device does it use? is it replaceable?

Thanks

Possible, but far from plug and play....
Proprietary ffc interface..

If I was going to do this mod, I would get a USB Bluetooth adapter and connect it to an internal USB port.
I will look for a schematic of the original bluetooth connector.

I would use a ffc breakout board..
Solder 4 wires to the breakout and connect them to the USB/bluetooth adapter.
Disable or remove the original bluetooth board.

Well,..
good news is the original Bluetooth is usb...
bad news is that it is 3 volt and not the standard 5 volt...

3 possibilities..
1)find a usb bluetooth that is 3 volt.....probably from another laptop..
2)get a alternative 5 volt source ....
3)use a boost converter to raise the 3 volts to 5 volts..
