CF-19 MK3 GPS Kit

#1 Post by Banshee »

I was just hunting around on eBay looking at CF-19's as I've just come into possession of a Brand New unused, never switched on CF-19 Mk3 (KHRAHPE) that I have for sale, it has no charger or HDD in it as these were used for another device.

Apart from this it comes with the original box and packaging, manuals, driver discs (Gobi1000 Drivers, Tough Connect, Windows 7 Pro Recovery Disc)

PM me or reply here if you're interested, I'll also put this in the for sale section

:offtopic:

Anyways, I just found this "GPS Kit", the advert states that it it for the CF-18 and 19
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GPS-kit-for-P ... 1e72457651

My question is, Where does this fit? and Where does that black antenna connect to?
If it replaces the Gobi module then it's no good for me as I use it for 3G connectivity when I'm out in the field.

If that is the case then could somebody tell me of where I could buy a PCMCIA GPS card, I've exhausted all of my searches here in the UK :(

The black piece sticks out to the side behind the hdd door. See the piece of black tape there? Remove the tape and the wiring hole and screw holes are there. Check ebay and you will see a picture. Several folks here have photos of where the module lives. Under the bluetooth cage within reach of the hole as above.

The black square plastic (GPS antenna cover) from the kit is to be mounted on the right side on the toughbook towards the rear just next to the hard drive door. There is a square black laminate that covers this. Try to wedge a blade into it by running this along the sides of the laminate and work your way under it. You can try apply a bit of heat to soften the adhesive which will make it easier to remove.

Installing the GPS is an add-on ie. you will still have your 3G connection.

There is an installation guide on youtube but as i'm new to this forum, Im not sure on the rules with posting links? Just search "how to install gps cf 19".
