CF-19 Rubberised Waterproof Backlit Keyboard

#1 Post by Banshee »

Does anyone have any experience with these or even own one?

I'd love to see a pic of a CF-19 with one fitted in the light and in the dark

I've heard they are pretty rare and are commanding some silly prices on eBay

The rubber backlit keyboards are not really rare and can be had used for around $50-60. More rare is the emissive (backlit chicklet) style that cost $250 or more. Rubber is best for really dirty, wet, or grimy environments but you really need to beat the keys harder than a standard or emissive keyboard.

Silly prices in the UK maybe but all Toughbook stuff is that way I have heard over there. I will get some pictures up for you later on.

I will get some pics taken today and post them for you.

There is always something waiting at the end of the road, if you are not willing to see what it is, you probably shouldn't be out there in the first place.

Glad to help out Blair. :)

Here is a link to a Photobucket album with the pics. I took a pic of the kb in a well lit room, no bklt, dim room with the 4 levels of bklt and then again in a non-lit room.

Some of the pics are not great, but hope they are good enough to answer your query Banshee. If you want/need any more/different pics, let me know asap as I borrowed the camera.

Glad the pictures, as bad as they are, helped you decide. You will not be disappointed with the KB.
