CF-19 MK 3 Bluetooth Dillema

#1 Post by RDJacob »

Hey guys,

So I got my hands on a CF-19KCRAG6B from Proton and I can't for the life of me get the Bluetooth to be recognized. I've tried numerous modules, and even returned the unit only to receive another one that won't run the Bluetooth either. This leads me to believe that I might be doing something wrong in diagnosing why it's not functioning. If anyone has any experiences with shitty Bluetooths coming out of mk3 units, I would greatly appreciate any kind of tips on figuring out why this keeps happening.

Thanks in advance for the responses.

EDIT:

The file is here: public_downloads/index.php?dir=Contribu ... Bluetooth/

Thanks!

The first thing I would try is resetting the BIOS to default.
Remove the main power.
Remove main battery.
Cycle the power switch multiple times, holding it for a couple seconds each time.
Plug in the main power.
Boot into BIOS and set to default, save and exit.
Shut down and install BT module.
Boot into BIOS and see if it is listed.

Have you checked the ffc's for damage, both the one from the BT module to the daughter card and the one from the daughter card to the system board?

All I can think of. My CF-19's have no BT. I am working on changing that, but will be awhile before I have any to try.

What operating system?

1. Power pull re-set as Morgan said
2. Does bluetooth show in bios? IF NO STOP AND CHECK HARDWARE.
3. F9 F10 from bios.
4. Is the switch on?
5. If you have a OS on there is WSU working?

Run a Linux LiveCD by there and from terminal $dmesg | grep Bluetooth #capital B

jcj@jcj-CF-74JCJBDAM ~ $ dmesg | grep Blu*

On the Panasonic driver site, there is a BIOS Setup Config (Bluetooth) Utility for the CF-19 MK3. Extracted on the HDD, it creates the directory c:\util2\bscbluet

To run the utility, open a command prompt, and run this command:

c:\util2\bscbluet\bscbluet.exe /on

Without this, Bluetooth isn’t mentioned in the BIOS, doesn’t work at all in Windows XP or 7, and fails the onboard diags.

Thanks Rob. I like to have physical possession of BIOS files, utilities and such. They tend to disappear from Panasonic's site after time. :)
