BIOS

#1 Post by Tranquillo »

Hi all and as is always typical the first post comes with 'cap in hand' needing help, I have somehow put in a BIOS password in my CF-19. Whilst a newbie to the TB I am not so dumb with PC's/laptops in general however somewhere I have screwed up. :o

Cutting a veeeeeeeeeery long story short I wanted a CF-19 (MK 2) running on WIN7, all in all I have managed that using the advice from the forum contributors over at NBR. Due to policy issues BIOS password threads are not encouraged on that forum (which I fully understand) so I am looking here for ideas/inspiration or even the master password if it exists.

I never EVER bother using passwords in the BIOS but may have inadvertantly done so but certainly do not remember the actual event. I purchased this TB from the states last year (I live in Spain) from a reputable dealer/company paying by c/card ect and have no issues disclosing the reciept number ect to show it came from a legitimate source, I mention this as I appreciate there are undesirables amongst us who would misus the information they may obtain via forums such as this.

Anyone any ideas how I can get into the BIOS?

many thanks in advance

Tranquillo

My friend that is one thing we can not help you with because as far as we know it can't be done. We had a member last year that was going to sell us the info on how to do it but he never came back so I think he was just blowing smoke . Heartlands USA can do it but its not cheap...Rob heard they just replace the mother board in it. Sorry

I can confirm with PROOF that they just replace the entire motherboard.

Well back on with the '19'! I had been going around in circles trying to get in to the BIOS and still to this day DO NOT remember putting any password in it. I have tried the few passwords I have, I do not have much to hide hence there are not that many anyway! The sound problem I had (i.e. no sound) continued to plague me and despite reloading WIN7 over and over and trying all the drivers in different sequences including the previous fix which worked perfect, I still had no sound, by chance I tried a third party hard drive formating software, reloaded windows using a sequence I had used before and lo and behold the sound returned, is it possible that using the WIN 7 format option does not clear the drivers previously used? I add that only in case someone else has the same problem.

Either way the TB is back and working great, I am still inviting ideas to get into the BIOS as everything offered by 'others' and me having spent more than a few hours on the net and still no luck. I sent an email to Panasonic customer support explaining the problem and gave then the company details I purchased it from, my address/phone number/passport number......blood group you name it and I did not even get a reply!!

Any further ideas......anybody?

Thanks to all who have contributed thus far.
