CF-31 Model letters within Marks

#1 Post by Geraout »

Hi All.

I'm in the UK looking to buy a CF31.

I've found a list of model numbers corresponding to marks at Toughbook Central (although it stops at CF31 Mk2).

My question is - what are the differences between the letters within each Mark?

eg a Mk 1 CF-31 includes model letters A,B,C, D,E & G. Mk2 covers model letters J,K,M,N,P,Q & R.

So is a Mk2 2 R model better than a Mk2 J?

I've googled and downloaded a number of spec sheets but none show any reference to model letters with marks.

Hope that makes sense

You can type the full number into this handy tool. It must be the exact format. 1 extra space and it will fail.
Use the search by model number box.

Thanks Shawn.

Yes - I've seen the configurator mentioned in this forum, but you need to have a full model number to use it.

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding it - is a Mk2 "R" version a later (improved) version compared to a "J" version or they just differing configurations of a Mk2?

Usually with model numbers (TVs, phones etc) a higher letter or number denotes a (usually) better spec.

Different configurations of a mk2 is correct.

The only major difference is if it is a high performance model with a dedicated ATI graphics card.

That one was messed up when I converted from a spreadsheet to a jpg

Makes me crazy people using a spreadsheet format for information that should be in a document format.
