Cannot boot SX2 from USB stick

My SX2 was upgraded to Windows 10 Pro by Microsoft's automatic deal. It has been running fine. I should add, though I'm not sure it would matter, that the SX2 came new with an SSD drive installed by the factory authorized Panasonic dealer.

I wanted to create a recovery boot option on a USB stick. Windows 10 created one with no error messages. I also created a second USB stick boot using Macrium Reflect. That program uses a Windows PE environment for booting.

Then I set the bios to boot first from "USB key." On rebooting, the SX2 ignores both USB sticks (tried separately) and boots from my SSD hard drive. I tried changing the boot option from Normal to Compatible. Same result.

The Windows recovery USB is on a Lexar 32gb drive. The Macrium Reflect is on a Kingston 8gb Data Traveler. Both USB sticks can be viewed in Explorer.

Any ideas?

Set the BIOS to boot from USB hard drive.
USB key setting won't boot a stick in my experience. It seems ALL USB sticks are considered USB hard drives by the BIOS.
