CF-M34 Wifi

#1 Post by Silver Trooper »

For any of you out there that have worked with the M34's, how was wifi incorporated in the 1.0Ghz model? Did they use an additional board and if so how was it interfaced with the mobo? I am still trying to obtain a 1.0Ghz but haven't yet. By any chance has anyone incorporated wifi into an M34 without using a PCMCIA or USB device?
One CF-52, four CF-18's, 4.5 CF-28's, one CF-29, five CF-M34's, two CF-37's, one CF-P2 and two CF-P1's. There are also two Getac A320T's, one Fieldpac and two IBM Transnotes. Not to mention the AMD 5600 CPU with three monitors and several HP PDA's. Whew! Must quit buying...no, must have MORE! Then there are the weapons...

I think they were Mini PCI cards with the mini coax antennas that go into the screen for the signal...

Hi, i have a 933 Mhz and i mounted a Engenius card inside with an external sma antenna.
There is a mini pci slot inside, only minus, after that you don't have a wired lan anymore.
You can always put a pcmcia lan card in it.

Btw, he is for sale on Ebay now

You may use this board in order for you to have dual mini pci slot and this board is rare. I have seen it only on ebay for twice in two years. Here is the item no.120509816887

TEO! Thank you...thank you...thank you! I plugged in that part number in Google just to see if anything would pop up. Lo and behold, the ONLY reply was a listing for an item on Ebay. Come to find out it was posted on 29 Dec and it was $48 BIN and only $3 shipping. I have been trying to find one of those for months since I did want to pay $200-300 for a 1.0Ghz CF-M34 as it was the only one with this card. What a deal!

Thanks again!
Robert

ST....I was hunting that two years ago but no luck coz I wanna make my unit to be wireless without loosing the NIC and modem but no luck. Instead I sold my cf-m34 933mhz. That board can be install to 300mhz, 400mhz, 700mhz, 866mhz and 933mhz.
Remember that the second mini pci accept only orinco, siemnens, cisco and intel If i am not mistaken. Good Luck.

Now may be a good time to pull the Intel card from one of my other Toughbooks and replace with the 600mw card so I can use the Intel in the CF-M34.
