in science there is a catchphrase "peer review or it didn't happen".
in infosec, there should be a catchphrase "code review or it ain't secure"
=> go for something 100% open source, with a good track record, like Qubes or Openbsd
=> if you want something minimalistic without apps, like KSS, then go for Genode with seL4 kernel
=> if you want something EAL6-certified to cover your ass in case of breach, Integrity-178B seems to be the only contender... but I cannot give any details on Integrity-178B due to having no clue myself ;-)

it's a MILS architecture, just like qubes. uses some inhouse microkernel. nothing fancy like sel4, as far as i can tell
https://os.kaspersky.com/wp-content/upl ... on_eng.pdf

it's not intended to be an OS to download/install on your system.
It's more like a codebase that will be tailored to your stuff, if you are like an OEM and buy a shitload of licenses.
Only thing we know, is that kraftway pays less than 3k usd per license. probably less than 1.5k usd.
here is a screencast of kaspersky os https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyoarEvzCVw

price info according to http://tickticknews.com/kaspersky-lab-a ... persky-os/
KasperskyOS is available for OEMs, ODMs, systems integrators and software developers around the world. Successful projects have already been conducted with Russia’s system integrator Kraftway (secure network router), SYSGO (strengthened security for PikeOS real-time operating system with Kaspersky Security System) and European systems integrator BE.services (embedding KasperskyOS technology in specialized Programmable Logic Controllers). As a unique project, that is tailored for every customer, the pricing of KasperskyOS varies depending on requirements. More information about KasperskyOS,

price info according to http://www.fonow.com/view/185608.html
In terms of price, Kaspersky OS does not have a fixed price, the specific price will be depending on the user system requirements of the degree of change.
At present, the media broke the news that network equipment manufacturers Kraftway has become a Kaspersky OS partners, and launched a set of 1000 equipped with this operating system routers, each priced at up to 3028 US dollars

not really, we have genode+sel4 in this universe.
free, open and mathematically proven vs some secret sauce from a crazy russian tech billionaire
not even the same ballpark

i'm not even sure I would call it interesting when compared to other secret sauce commercial mils microkernel stuff ... like genua vs-top/cyber-top

I don't know..Crazy Russian tech ..already has me interested...Ha Ha ha.

Seriously though, I'm not so sure open source is the best route...
Things get too watered down and too branched out.

Of course I am weird enough to want OSX on my Toughbooks.

You can defeat Kaspersky's ATM antivirus with a really fat executable
https://www.theregister.co.uk/2017/07/1 ... rity_vuln/
that, I find interesting ;-)
.. especially in the branched out and watered down context ;-)
