a smallish evaporator or condenser core will fill the bill nicely .
if you keep the core higher than anything else in the system and put a "T" on the inlet/fill side , you can bleed the air out of the system .

I thought of getting fancy and getting a drier that fits with thr evap core, hallow thr drier out use it as a little reservoir and for purging
