VPN service

#1 Post by Springfield »

Do you guys ever use a VPN service? Any recommendations for which one? Obviously a free service seems more attractive, but what are the advantages of a paid service over free?

I use VPNs quite often. Besides using my own VPN servers, I recently tried PIA and it works fine. The yearly fee is cheap and I can use it on up to 5 devices.

I would never use free unencrypted wifi without a VPN.

Free WIFI is NEVER a good idea without a VPN! *if* I were to ever get in a bind and use some shotty WIFI at a hotel I do a FULL tunnel back to my firewall at home where the server for TBT is and run everything through there! :)

I might also add that this is also helpful when travelling over seas and they block stuff like Pandora or Youtube or whatever due to the legal rights... I VPN back home and run all traffic through the 1GB fiber so everything flows! :)
