lcd questions

lcd questions

Ok, LCD's are forigen to me, this old multimeter display is dim, when i pulled it, its strange im used to things soldered to boards, this one has strips that go from the board contacts to display... if anyone can shine any light it would be greatly appreciated...


Hopefully pix attach right....im mobile lol

So the LCD was just laying on the contacts? No adhesive?

That is how they do it on some smaller lcd's The connection is held by "force".
For a dim LCD, I would try a NEW battery first thing.

Battery is new, pigtail is new(broken and corosion and oxidization way up into the wire on the old one).... with the new pigtail and battery the lcd stays on now and doesnt act spurattic, just dim
