And poopier yet. DC-10 on down-wind to drop. The DC-6 was more effective.

We are fine. :D
Looking better today .....yesterday could see nothing.....

We (Bell Springs Fire) are in initial attack mode for any new fires.

Meeting in a bit with my troops and doing a little pre-plan for panic.

When in panic
When in doubt
Run in circles
Scream and shout.

Thanks,

Jeff

I'm pretty happy with this.
They "put it to bed" at 11,000 acres.

The fact that it started in BLM "Heritage" Wilderness land was the cause for the fire burning past initial attack....(4 hours) Most of the wilderness land burned and the fire was stopped when it got on private land. iow when bulldozers could be used.
One guy said the dozers bent his water pipe, screwed up his dam, but he was happy to see them. Better crushed than fried. Perfect response.

Most radio traffic now is from the Suppression Repair Group. That is...they are making the roads and firelines ready for the winter rains. Every containment line is water barred to a minimum of existing Forest and Fire laws Regulations....supervised by the people that regulate Forest Practice Regulations.

And so it goes. "It ain't over 'til it's over".

11,000 acres....

That's a path 1 mile wide and 17 miles long.

CA-MEU Lodge Complex: 12,336 acres, 65% contained. A new spot fire was discovered on the northwestern portion of the fire on very steep terrain. Crews will continue to gain access today. Interior islands continue to be consumed. Mop up and patrol continue on other portions of the fire.

Above is the official report.

Here is my daughter's pick-up. She loaned it to me as the green machine is having issues. I added a few accessories.

Meanwhile the herd increases. One of the twins.
