One thing to remember is that Dell sources everything out. They may have made some internal changes to handle the heat, abuse and stuff, but I bet if you were to tear one down you would find alot of areas where they skimped. I can't get over the pictures of the testing lab compared to Panasonic's lab.
Dell is based in Round Rock,Tx, or they do something very large there. The company that did the tests on it are also in Round Rock. I would bet anything that if one would dig real deep you would find that company has ties somehow with Dell.

The new Dell is one sharp piece of work. With the advent of the latest LED backlighting technologies and the SSD, several companies are jumping on the "got to be the thinnest" bandwagon. IBM and Apple were in a war to see who could get the latest and greatest out first and at the best price. It was enevitable that others would follow suit soon and this is Dell's entry into the fray. If they have improved the "innards" as much as the cosmetics, it could be quite a laptop. The added benefit of going to the LED and SSD is improved reliability on top of the light weight very thin design. It certainly would not meet the "toughness" factor, but laptops in general are getting better (and cheaper!) and are rapidly becoming "throwaways" like cheap printers.

I think the Adamo is a neat-looking little guy, just like the MacBook Air... but despite the "cool" I doubt I'd buy one, even if the battery was user-replaceable.
By the way... "Adamo" ?! Is this laptop intended to be a stunt double for Edward James Olmos?
Since the XFR was mentioned, though, I must say I think those are really neat. Given the price difference between it and the CF-30, however (4000 and up, versus 6500 and up), it does make you wonder where that extra $2500 went...
