What other pc toys are you waiting on?

#1 Post by ADOR »

These do look interesting. I really like the look of the Sapphire Edge. I will be watching it in the future. A A10-6800k and dropping a SSD into it I might would buy it now. Early 2014 AMD has the new APU platform coming out. The 6800K right now can play a lot of the top games just turned down some, so it will be nice to see how much they can bump it up.

I see the APU line of AMD really going up. The new APU to be released in early 2014 is suppose to be 30% faster on the CPU side and 20 to 40% faster on the GPU side. It already has been tested and bypasses dedicated nivida 630.

In 2015 ddr 4 is suppose to be out for consumers, that is when they have their new APU planned for release. APU needs the fastest ram because it uses it for video also. I have 1600 in my pc right now because I already had it, but once I get my new cooler and do some real benchmarking I am going to get 8gb of 2133 ram for it. In other tests I have read up on you can get close to 10 more FPS with it. DDR 4 ram goes from 2000 up 4000 mhz so that will really help that kind of set up out performance wise.

Is it wrong to want your gaming pc to fit in your back pocket? LMAO

I have also seen these with up to i7 in them.

I've recently setup a new system for a friend, using 2nd gen Intel NUC platform (Haswell), with an i3-4010U (15W TDP), with 2x4gb LV DDR3, a Kingston 60gb mSATA SSD and Win8.1, all hooked up to a Philips 27" LED monitor. Very nice, compact setup, and it's pretty fast.
It should handle light gaming with no issues (HD 4400), it's quiet, really compact, and consumes less power than a normal laptop.

You have 4xUSB 3.0, Intel Gigabit LAN, miniDisplayPort, miniHDMI, analog in/out, infrared sensor (for remote), VESA 100x100 mounting bracket, and antennas and MiniPCIe half slot for WiFI (15$ Intel 2230 wifi+Bluetooth card).

there are i5 versions, also (HD 5000 graphics, turbo boost up to 2.6Ghz), but seem to be $100 more.
