I've recently setup a new system for a friend, using 2nd gen Intel NUC platform (Haswell), with an i3-4010U (15W TDP), with 2x4gb LV DDR3, a Kingston 60gb mSATA SSD and Win8.1, all hooked up to a Philips 27" LED monitor. Very nice, compact setup, and it's pretty fast.
It should handle light gaming with no issues (HD 4400), it's quiet, really compact, and consumes less power than a normal laptop.
You have 4xUSB 3.0, Intel Gigabit LAN, miniDisplayPort, miniHDMI, analog in/out, infrared sensor (for remote), VESA 100x100 mounting bracket, and antennas and MiniPCIe half slot for WiFI (15$ Intel 2230 wifi+Bluetooth card).http://www.amazon.com/Intel-D34010WYK-D ... =D34010WYK
there are i5 versions, also (HD 5000 graphics, turbo boost up to 2.6Ghz), but seem to be $100 more.
