After being delayed about 3 and half days waiting on parts I finally got the rear brakes rebuilt. Tomorrow I will fill the system, check for leaks and bleed it out. Install the shifter, mount the fuse box and start streching out wires. Took three stops to find new lugnuts. Just about every parts store has stopped having the big open bin full of them. I finally the ones I needed with the extra long shank on it for the aftermarket rims that are on the truck.

That is where my friend order a LOT of stuff and can get it at dealer price. That is where we looked everything up and figured out the 94-95 mustang start was the one I needed.

Worked on the brakes more today, last thing to do now is to fill the system and bleed them out. The shifter is mock mounted and all the wiring is in the truck waiting to be stretched out. Put the front clip back on to test the front bumper fit. Got to pull the front bumper and rear bumper off and refinish them.

Working on it on and off today. Got the fuse box mounted, flasher box mounted, relays mounted. Started stretching out wires and sorting them. Then zip tied them into smaller groups where they go. Zip tied them about every 8 to 12" depending on how many it was. Used the spiral protector type covers and wrapped from the fuse harness to where the tail lights are. Wrapped two other sections then ran out of spiral wrap. Will have to get more from town tomorrow. Couldn't find the camera earlier, so the pictures are dark.

Back at work so this is on hold till I get home again. When I had my bag on my shoulder and headed out the door Fedex pulled up with my radiator for it. I took the time to test fit it to make sure it didn't needed to be swapped out. Got to do some mods to the shifter arm as my arm on my transmission points down (factory column shift), I need it to point up (factory floor shift). Should have something figured out time I get home. Shifter, wiring, bleed brakes and mount radiator and this truck will be ready to fire up.

It's been a while since I have updated this so here it goes.

The brakes are working now. The master cylinder turned out was bad, only one side was working. Also being a 7/8" bore master it was too small. I was thinking my calipers were 2.5" calipers. After finding out the master was bad I did a lot more research and found out that each caliper was just about 3" (2.95") so it needed a lot more volume. Got a another master. A used 1-1/8" bore master and it all seems to be working fine now. When I get it on the road and it doesn't work as well as I want I am going with a fire wall mounted booster setup. Right now it's still under the floor where I adapted the factory manual drum setup to manual disk brakes.

I have had some issues with fuel on the truck as well. The original electric fuel pump I had went out after one hitch. Then I went maximum and got a holley blue pump. That blew out the regulator I had on it so I had to get a new regulator installed. It still put out too much pressure so I had to get a smaller electric pump and put a carter on it. Got a new fuel tank on it, bed installed, some body work done, wood in bed installed.

One thing I fought months on was getting the shifter installed. I originally had two working AOD trans and the FMX. I thought I would use the FMX for easier hookup and save time and money. How little did I know. I would of been long done with that if I would of gone with the AOD. I changed out the 351/400m/429/460 Ford bell house housing for a small block housing. Then after it would work shifting by hand and had a drive shaft installed I went looking for a shifter. What a pain. It turns out only Gennie and Lokar currently have a after market shifter for the FMX. I knew the Lokar shifter you needed to drop the trans pan and then install there shift arm. I didn't want to do that, kill the cheap and easy build so I went with Gennie because you didn't need to do that was suppose to bolt up to the correct arm.

That's when the next oversized speed bump in the build came up. I didn't see in the Gennie instructions how there shifter installed to my trans shift arm properly. It hooked up to the body like it was suppose to. So I called them up and asked how I was suppose to hook it up properly because the pictures were a little different. They weren't aware that they made any FMX's with the shift arm pointing down.

After a few months of research I found out that if the shift arm pointed up it was for a factory floor shift car and it would hook straight up to the gennie shifter. Mine was from a factory column shift car and if I found a way to hook it to the shifter it would shift reverse pattern. Not what I wanted. I found out I could drop the pan and flip the rod and it would be close. But others who said they had done that claimed that it would work, but still wouldn't feel right.

It took a couple of more months to find the right answer. On a ebay listing I found the right shift arm and the guy sent me another picture with the measurements I needed to make my own adapter. With in the same week I finally found one at the bone yard in a dead trans and pulled it out and took it home. It was different than the one in the pictures on ebay I was sent. So I learned there is at least 3 different shift arms. The one pointing down is 2-3/4" inch long center to center. Both of the ones pointing up are 2-1/8" long. But one is straight up and down the other has a bend in it. So making my own adapter and welding it on was just want I needed to make the shifter work.

The main things I am working on right now has been wiring and chasing a starting and running problem. I just got the starting and running problem solved when I finally had enough go out on the carb and I replaced it. Just one turn of the crank now and it fires up. The exhaust is finished as well. 2.5" pipe from the headers to the rear. My friend at the muffler shop uses thicker pipe and it is aluminum coated so it will be around for a while.
