Or as Jeff would say "what ADOR has been spending his toughbucks on" lol

I have had this truck I have been working on and off since about Mid year 2011. 1952 Ford F1. I am getting very close to firing the engine off right now. So here is the progress in pictures for it.

A few trips to the junk yard and I found 4 48 -52 ford trucks. Two half tons and two BIG trucks. I have gotten various parts off of them. One of the half tons were bought after I got what parts I needed off of it. Mainly grill parts as my front clip for years had been stored nose first on the ground and was rusted out. Between two trucks I had found enough parts to replace them all.

The original flathead was long gone, but the transmission was still there. Since I couldn't find a flathead that wasn't locked up from setting up unused or full of water I started work and looked for another engine.

Work starts, stripped to the Cab and Frame.

Slow got it all together and started test fitting different engine I had. First was the 250 six with 3 speed. That one would of took a ton of fab work to relocate the shifter and make shifting linkage.

Next was a 1957 292 Y block, backed by a 1954 big truck 4 speed. It fit good and even the original trans mount would of worked. I didn't use it as the big truck 4 speed wouldn't been good for just basic driving. I tried to find another Y block tranny that would work but nothing could be found that didn't need to be rebuilt.

The truck had a crappy single high back bucket from a ???? I trashed it, it didn't look good anyway, lol.

I found a bench seat frame that wasn't totally rusted out in the junk yard out of one of the bean trucks and got it, rebuilt it. I had to weld a 1" x 1" square tube to the top because the original holes were tore out getting it apart, I got the slide back working. The seat frame originally was all springs. I kept just the outer frame, welded in tabs and put in ply wood. Then I went back to the junkyard and pulled a lower seat foam from a late 70's to early 80's dodge pickup. They are solid foam with a good heavyduty seat cover so I know the foam would still be good. The 1980-95 ford truck rear seat back is solid foam also. These foams are longer than needed so I cut the foam and reshaped them. Got a half ass cover on it right now. Will be doing a better cover, maybe a Mexican blanket type cover later on.

Y block test fitting

Image

Current combo test fitting 302 v8 / FMX. Originally was going to go with a 3 speed manual, but too much linkage to work out or I would of just made mounts for the 250 six.

Great job. It is looking good. Some nice work going on. Toughbucks well spent.

Disk brake conversion kit. Changed from stock drums to 11.75" disks on the front.

http://www.speedwaymotors.com/1948-1956-Ford-Half-Ton-Deluxe-Disc-Brake-Kit-5-x-4-1-2-Inch,4621.html

Not the kit I went with, but very similar. Mine keeps the factory wheel bolt pattern and has a bigger disk.

Test fitting cross members.

The 1988 Lincoln Town car 5.0/302 and FMX. The fuel injection was low performance on this model, but it is set up with a roller cam. Same cam they put in the 93 up trucks. Made for making low end torque to push heavy cars/trucks. The restrictive intake has been replaced by a aluminum dual plane intake and a Edelbrock carb. I had to use the one year only 1986 ford mustang with carb distributer because it is the newer style for this block and I started with a mismatched set of exhaust manifolds because all standard manifolds hit the steering box. Finally found one for a 1963 falcon that would clear the steering on the driver side. It was wide open on the passenger side.
