Hello,

searching for a way to get my MC7710 working , I found

http://web.archive.org/web/200710160636 ... le0001.php

So - if some of the kind gentlemen in this forum are able to place a ubuntu disk into a CF-31 or a different toughbook with a working WWAN card and just perform a

lspci -nv

as root and place the output - i.e something like

root@electron:~# lspci -nv
...
02:02.0 Class 0200: 14e4:4318 (rev 01)
Subsystem: 103c:1356
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 168, IRQ 11
Memory at c4010000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=64K]
Capabilities: [44] Power Management version 2

into the thread we may got a way to collect all the ID & SubID's of WWAN cards Panasonic support...
...and if we let them know that, they may give up selling expensive stuff to the world and accept that this era has been gone long time ago

Idea on windows (we cannot modifie source code of Nic) : After hardware scan, force the "wrong" nic to use the correct drivers (Legacy Hardware ?)

cheers
Frank

Ok - searched the web for info about hardware ID's

Original Sierra Wireless
-------------------------
Device Name: MC7710
Hardware ID SB\VID_1199&PID_68A2&REV_0006&MI_0C
USB\VID_1199&PID_68A2&MI_0C <---- Device ID matches with our database

Compatible ID:
USB\CLASS_02&SUBCLASS_0E&PROT_00
USB\CLASS_02&SUBCLASS_0E

PANASONIC (driveridentifier.com)
-----
MC7750 Driver for Panasonic Corporation - CF-19AFUSV1M (005) working on Microsoft Windows XP Professional

Device Name: MC7750
Hardware ID: USB\VID_1199&PID_68A2&REV_0006&MI_00
USB\VID_1199&PID_68A2&MI_00 <---- Device ID matches with our database

Compatible ID:
USB\CLASS_FF&SUBCLASS_FF&PROT_FF
USB\CLASS_FF&SUBCLASS_FF
USB\CLASS_FF

--> Looks like it should be possible to get a MC7710 working by "faking" a 7750 - Hardware ID is identical
USB\VID_1199&PID_68A2 - only difference MI_0C (7710) and MI_00(7750)

Next, found for european F5521gw different PID's from generic and Lenovo - while MI_06 identical.
would be interesting, what values a "original" Panasonic card got....

All this is annoying dear Panasonic corp....

ERICSON DRIVER BUNDLE
------------------------

"F5521gw Mobile Broadband Driver" = ssndis.Dev, USB\VID_0bdb&PID_190D&Mi_06 ; Generic
"F5521gw Mobile Broadband Driver" = ssndis.Dev, USB\VID_0bdb&PID_1911&Mi_06 ; Lenovo

USB\VID_0BDB&PID_190D <---- Device ID matches with our database

Compatible ID:
USB\CLASS_02&SUBCLASS_08&PROT_00
USB\CLASS_02&SUBCLASS_08
USB\CLASS_02

LENOVO

USB\VID_0BDB&PID_1911&MI_06&OS_NT&WWAN
USB\VID_0BDB&PID_1911&MI_06&WWAN <---- Device ID matches with our database
USB\VID_0BDB&PID_1911&CLASS_02&SUBCLASS_0D&PROT_00&OS_NT&WWAN

Compatible ID:
