I love my CF-30 - advise on fingerprint reader

So I've determined that I will for sure wait for the price of the CF-31 to come down quite a bit because I'm not ready to part from my CF-30 + I don't have an extra 3 grand laying around right now like I did 4 years ago...

At this point I want to get a finger print reader for it which costs only $148. I also need a new lid still since I cracked my current one lol...

With that being said, I know that the CF-30 fingerprint reader comes WITH a manual thingy but it doesn't have ANY info in it as to where the little ribbon cable connects and what little plastic/rubber gaskets go where :(... Also what software do you use with it???

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! :)

Rob, in conversations on both this forum and NBR, the subject of fingerprint readers has arisen several times, and it seems each time the concensus is that are not worth the money from a security standpoint. Of course, if you are just trying to keep a small child or someone that is not very computer literate from accessing your laptop, I suppose it will suffice. But I know mnem for one blasts them every time they are mentioned. Any particular reason (other than having all the bells and whistles on your 30) for wanting to install? Just curious....

Nope, that's about it... I just want ALL the bells and whistles! :D

Also, Back when I had my 29 I used to have a PCMCIA APC branded fingerprint reader... it worked GREAT! :)

Doesn't someone have two of these for sale over at NBR?

That won't work for me as I have a bluetooth PCMCIA mouse already occupying that slot...

Thanks SO SO SO SO MUCH for the pictures!!! That is re-assurance for me if I decide to purchase this for my CF-30. The pictures don't show all of the million and six little rubber seals and plastic tape things either... Would I just put those where I feel fit?

Also what about the water aspect of this mod... Can the fingerprint reader its self get wet or is that an no no? Does that little cover seal it entirely from water?

Now what about the software to run it?

Sorry, for the :hijacked: I just wanted to say hello to a fellow Batwing! :D
