CF-30 touchpad issue

The touchpad on the toughbooks will move the cursor but the cursor will erratically jump around, and not go where you want it. It will act like the cursor is stuck in one location and the mouse pointer will snap back to the same location if you try to move it with the touchpad. The unit is a CF-30 running Windows 7, I just upgraded it to Windows 10 and I'm having the same issue so the problem is hardware nor software or drivers. Any ideas on how this issue map be fixed?

Thanks

Dan..

Is the cursor going to the same spot or is it just jumping around everywhere?

If going to one spot check for dirt around the edge of the touchpad, use a credit card to clean it out.

If it's just jumping around everywhere, go to bios and disable GPS and install the GPS registery patch, then re-enable the GPS.

it's going back to the same spot (center screen) I used a USB mouse and it does the same thing if not worse than using the touch pad. the computer is a CF-30KCPRQ2B. I did clean the touchpad but I will do it again. The GPS has always been disabled and my issue recently just started.

Go into BIOS and disable the touchscreen to rule it out. To make sure Also what OS are you using? there should be a option in mouse setting for when a usb mouse is plugged in it disables the onboard until it's unplugged.

I just upgraded from Win 7 pro to Win 10 pro however, this issue was occurred all of a sudden under win 7 and I thought that maybe I had a driver issue that's why I upgraded

So I thought about disabling the "Touch screen" also, I entered the BIOS v3.01L23, and the only two options under touch screen is tablet mode or auto there is no way to disable it.

I haven't had a Mk3, but Mk1 and 2 I think has the option to disable. Turn the unit off, close the lid and take the back panel off, that way you can access the plug for the touch screen and unplug it for now.

I have been following the thread you made at NBR as well. Most of the same guys here are there also.

I just went to a 31 Mk3 myself. Your CF-30 caddy will work in the 31. With the 31 series having dual graphincs intel/ATI is possible. My unit is intel 4000/ati 7750.

i3 models are your lower end, i5 up models can be the dual graphic ones but not all of them are.

I may just end up getting a 31 w/out a HHD and use mine. Do the batteries also work in the 31?

Yes, I should of mentioned that as well, the batteries swap as well. So it will swap. All you will need is a hull. The DVD drive does not, they changed it.
