Mouse pad not responsive

#1 Post by scotguy »

My CF-30 MK3 mouse pad is not very responsive my finger is soar after about an hours use! any ideas what part i need to replace? is it the top cover or the actual mouse board that's slowing it down just doesn't seem very sensitive, where would i get a new one don't think there is any point getting a used one for the same to happen again. also how difficult is it to replace.

Removing and replacing the fpc may clean it up. Corrosion etc. Requires removing the bottom.

If you need to replace the whole pad then it becomes more tedious. Not too "hard" the third or fourth time you do it. :)

Removing the palm rest cover is a bit of a chore unless you intend to put on a new one. Heating it from the bottom MAY allow you to re-use the palm rest protector. Personally I nearly always wrinkle them. Shawn does better. More patient.

It's funny as I just "turned up" my CF-31......touchpad......then found I was adjusting the touchscreen.

May I assume you are using a M$ program?

edit already: Figure on replacing the thermal pads as long as the bottom is off. :end edit

Try adjusting the sensitivity and speed in the touchpad application in the taskbar on the bottom right.

Here's where you have to go.

The silver bar supports and connects the battery and hard drive.

That green cable comes through a slot in the case. Yours will be covered by a square of black tape on the battery side. It's a lot smaller than it looks. The connection is partially under the battery connector.

If you have never removed a palmrest before, I strongly suggest a NEW replacement palmrest and touchpad. You will destroy the first one you take off.
Here is an easier hardware solution. You would need to swap ALL of your parts.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Panasonic-Tough ... SwbYZXTw~W

A NEW palmrest will cost $40.00 plus

Here is a NEW touchpad for $45

Before you attempt to mess with the touchpad hardware, try a software solution. Try a driver direct from Synaptics.

Then open the mouse//touchpad control from the taskbar or click MOUSE in windows control panel.
