SSD problems after mobo swap.

Hello everybody, I'm new around here. I have 2 CF-30, a CF-30CTQEZBM with a bad touchscreen but in good overall shape and a CF-30KAPAX2M with a cracked casing and all doors missing or broken but with good internal parts and touchscreen. So, I swapped the mobo, LCD and other parts from the MK3 to the MK1. It worked, go figure, but the SSD it has is not shown neither in the OS (Mint 17.3 from a USB stick) or the BIOS. I know the SSD is not broken, I just installed in an netbook and it worked just fine. So, what I'm missing? Many thanks in advance.

Just so you know....you are not supposed to be able to swap MK3 to MK1. Good show.

This should be fun.

Someone will show up. :) Welcome to the madhouse.

First try another known good drive to see if it shows up, if that doesn't work re-check your connections on the cable.

Verify the boot order in the BIOS

Well Sadlmkr, like many other members in this forum I can't take a "it can't be done" as an answer. :D
The only parts incompatible between MK1 and 3 seems to be the cable connecting the LCD and the mobo and the USB board.

ADOR: I'll try to find another good hard drive and see that happens. I'll report back as soon as is done.

Shawn: I already try that, no luck so far.

Thanks to all who took time to answer.

Is it a China made caddy or HDD cable? Those cable connectors are 1mm too short and will cause problems in certain units. They will not always connect to the internal motherboard HDD connector/cable.

Pull the HDD cable connector from the CF30C and put it in the CF30K. I mean the internal connector from the motherboard.

Since he swapped everything he needs to check the internal cable and the caddy cable.

Also some weird stuff can be solved by a reset to defaults in the bios.

ADOR: I installed another hard drive in the CF-30 caddy and still nothing. How do I reset the BIOS to default settings?

Shawn: I don't know for sure if it is a Chinese caddy, but I suspect it is, I don't have any other to compare. I've swapped the "Y" cable connecting the caddy and the motherboard but nothing happened.
