INTERNAL SPEAKER not working on CF-30 with Win 7 Pro 32-bit

Hello Everyone!

I have two identical CF 30's MK2's with brand new hard drives and Win 7 Pro 32 bit, 4GB ram, and touch screen is working properly with stylus or fingertip on both of them. Hot keys operate fine (without any screen pop-ups, though).

The internal speaker DOES NOT work on either of the units. Sound is controlled by Windows (taskbar icon, as expected) as well as via the hot keys. Yes, the headphone jack DOES indeed work fine on both computers. I am assuming this is driver or bios related. Any initial ideas?

CF-30FASAAAM

Seeing as how the screens are actually dimming properly now with the FN keys, I really don't want to screw these up...... they work perfectly except for the no audio on the internal speaker. I've tried to download several audio drivers and they don't seem to change anything.

Any help would be great!
Much appreciated!

-John

You can try this from the Panasonic FAQ.

Title: [Win7/XP]
No sound from speaker
Model:
CF-18, CF-19, CF-30, CF-31, CF-51, CF-52, CF-53, CF-74, CF-C1, CF-D1, CF-F9, CF-S10, CF-T8 and CF-U1
Operating System: Windows 7 and Windows XP
Language:
Release Date: Aug 23, 2012
Question

[Win7/XP]
No sound from speaker(s) even not muted.

Answer

The Hotkey Appendix, which is an application software of
Panasonic, should be installed to mute/un-mute speaker(s).

<Cause>

Once speaker(s) is muted, BIOS remembers that in NVRAM(*1). To un-mute it back, the Hotkey Appendix is required. To install the Hotkey Appendix, run setup.exe as an administrator and follow the message. The Hotkey Appendix is located at c:\util\hkeyapp\setup.exe

Please refer to following "How to set up Hotkey Appendix Utility".

<Confirmation Method>

Open Start Control Panel - Programs - Uninstall a program (XP: Start -Control Panel - Add or Remove programs ), confirm the Hotkey Appendix is in list.
[Except; CF-D1 (No key board), CF-U1 (Fn and R key)]
Hit Fn and F4 key simultaneously, the speaker mute icon should be displayed on the middle of screen. If no icon is displayed, the Hotkey Appendix is not installed.

(*1);
Non-volatile random-access memory (NVRAM) is random-access
memory that retains its information when power is turned off.

Unknown devices:
Guessing properties are ....MAT0019 hotkey and ......MAT0021 miscellaneous (called newmisc) at the exclamation marks. I do the second one first.

Double click the item or right click and navigate to properties in the device manager to confirm.

replace TEST with your query.

Hi guys

Thanks for the help!

I downloaded and installed the HOT KEY APPENDIX as well as the MISC driver, and the SOUND WORKS NOW!!!

However, doing this killed my dimming on my screen. SOO... I uninstalled the Intel graphics driver, and installed the version that was the same as the Hot Key and MISC driver era (Vista for CF-30 MK2). I then got a blue screen of death... but, upon restart, everything is now working fine! Including the icons popping up properly for all functions..

Going to try the 2nd PC now and will advise what happens!
