How powerful? New or used? How much memory/Resolution (higher resolution needs more memory)? How long? Single wide or double wide? Fan or fanless?

New or used(as long as it works), prob fan as im not sure the heat sinks might be to bulky, memory maybe 512 or bigger, low profile i guess single wide lol... its a dell 780 sff, it has a ati Radeon 3450 256mb in it, but im going to be needing the hdmi for a project... not going to be doing any gaming or anything

Lets see what the bay has. The smallest card I currently use is a single slot 6570 ATI. It is even powerful enough to play skyrim.

If double wide half length will work and you want a high end card grab this or a 750ti (the 750ti uses a lot less power and has slightly less performance overall) Probably need a bigger power supply and it takes extra power for the card to plug in.

Now for the single slot cards you have full width or half width. I have had my best luck with PNY or XFX brand. All card listed are between 20 bucks to 60 bucks buy it now. ( I think all of these have HDMI, double check)

Well that is why I have stuck with the PNY and XFX brand on used or new. All the video cards I have ordered lately have been used. The top top end cards get really used and abused. That goes for the unlocked cards that can get over clocked. But for what you are looking for any of those should be good. Most of the cheaper ones will have DDR3 ram, with the better faster ones with DDR5 ram. The 6570 can be DDR3 or 5 with the 5 version of the same card putting out much better performance.

Do you know how the numbering system goes on the video cards? If you get too low end of a card I have seen where integrated graphics on some of the newer computers can beat them, lol.

Not sure how powerful the lower end 6 series cards are. I know the 210 series I had was gutless. I hope they have upped the power on them.
