WTB CF19 Parts

#1 Post by subcaptian »

Hey guys, I've been stalking these forums ever since I got my CF-19 Early this year. Unfortunately, I dropped it in tablet mode and the screen cracked. Not badly, but I want it fixed. Anyone got a MK1 LCD floating around that they might part with? I'm also looking for high-capacity RAM cards and want to partial trade an emissive keyboard for an emissive backlit keyboard. I don't have a huge budget, so if I could get stuff on the cheap, that would be great.

Well not sure what you mean by cheap...if we could get them cheap we all would have them :D . Mine was new and it cost me about $120.00 shipped. I know this guy will not take trades because he was upfront about that "No Trades" . Not too many of us have them on here because of the price...they do sell in the $175.99-$225.99 + s/h range.

Well, I actually just got off the phone with Toughbookdepot and 175 sounds reasonable compared to 300 for a new screen. Do you have one you'd be willing to sell for that price?

A few months ago my girlfriends oldest boy dropped her CF-19 Mk1 I got her. I had another CF-19 that was beyond beat to hell but worked good as a back up and dropped her battery and caddy into it. I had several CF-18's lying around so it was just cheaper for me to strip out the Mk2/3 screen and put it into the CF-19. The screen in the CF-19 is suppose to be brighter but I guess it had dimmed over time. The CF-18 screen seemed as bright as the 19 screen did. It might be cheaper to find a parts CF-18 unit and just swap the screen.

If you can't find a cheap replacement check back with me when I get back home from work. I will be parting out a CF-18 Mk1. ( think the connections on the Mk1 are the same but would have to check, I know there are a few little differences like it has a jumper cable for the speakers that the other CF-18's don't have.

No, not the top. I took the screen out of the CF-18 and put it inside the CF-19 housing. All connectors worked. Guess I should of took some more pictures of the swap. It was pretty much opened up the CF-18 screen housing, un-plugged and did the same for the CF-19. I did have to get all the foam padding back in the right spot.

I'm still interested in that CF-18 still. I got my eye on a complete screen unit on ebay, but how much do you want for the lcd on that 18?
