Out with the wife today and ran across a Mk4 19 in a pawn shop complete. Nothing fancy. Factory 160 gb hd, 2gb ram, missing the pen. And of course came with the totally "correct" 19 volt charger (it's 16 volt for those that don't really know, lol), and it has windows 10 pro 64 installed and activated. Figured that was why it was dumped. Windows 10 was installed May 19th, 2017 so it's been on there a while now. No drivers installed at all.

Just downloaded classic shell, 7zip, windows tweaker 4, old task manager. Now to look up lots of tricks to dump a lot of windows 10 stuff. If that doesn't work for me, 7 will be going back on. First Mk4. Never got to play with one yet.

10 works ok on my mk6.
I loaded 10 to try the win10 mapping software.

I will give that mapping a whirl, need to drop a gps into it first.It has gobi in it now. Will most likely never use it.

I got 10 for my Mk5 on a 900 something samsung ssd, not real impressed with it. Wanted to try it with out turning everything off. Need to learn how to work on it so I can help friends out anyway. I got a second SSD with 7 on it for the Mk5. On this Mk4 it had nothing loaded on it software wise so it's like starting from scratch again. Last Mk5 I sold had 10 on it, got everything working on it. Guy called me about 3 months later. A update screwed it all up. So it got 7 put back on it.

It will just be a trial and error run. Been wanting to see how the 1.2 mk3 runs against a 1.2 mk4 anyway.
