Panasonic Recovery Discs

#1 Post by Rich »

I decided I wanted to restore my CF-29 Mk5 to Windows XP. It didn't go to well, wouldn't install from an official Microsoft disc. I looked around and couldn't find anybody selling any so I called Panasonic (888) 808-4835 and asked if I could still get a recovery disc. They had to check and called me back in about an hour. I paid the $39 and they sent it Fedex overnight.

I installed, it took me to Service pack 2. I downloaded SP3 on another computer and installed. I was able to get a usb wifi dongle going then used Legacy Update to get everything updated as far as it can go. Also the factory recovery disc auto activates so there are no problems there.

Anyway, it seems if you need a recovery disc for an older toughbook call them and see if they can make one for you. I was pleasantly surprised and they were SOOOOO nice. :)
