CF-VDW07 help

#1 Post by scmoore »

Hello all,
I'm hoping someone has a copy of CFVDW07_NON_PANASONIC_MEIWDS_K-04-224.ZIP. I just picked up a CF-VDW07 and was hoping to play around with it and maybe even see if I could get it working with my CF-30 on Windows 7. I anyone has the file in their archives and would be willing to send me a copy that would be great. Also anyone who has played around with the CF-VDW07 and has any infor or links would be appreciated.

Thanks
Stephen

I spent some time with these several years ago. They will only hookup to certain kinds of wifi cards, mainly old Cisco 802.11b, never got it working with an Intel or Atheros wifi. Also requires Windows XP. Tried to get the display to connect with an XP virtual machine inside Win7 host, but the remote link software seems to use a technique that virtual machines don't support.

Attached below are some instructions I wrote for a CF-VDW07 kit I used to sell on Ebay. Still have a few around somewhere. There are V1 and V2 versions of the display's embedded software, the V2 works pretty well but the V1 is very finicky and only works with Panasonic's interface kit hardware. Also, working batteries for these are very rare.

Springfield, thanks for the info. My problem is setting up the CF-07 brick computer to work with the CF-VDW07 display. Initially you need you need the port replicator to have a display to see what you're doing.

I still have 4 bricks. Port replicators. One wireless screen. I got one in a car dock to a permant screen. They make a factory power splitter to charge or use the brick and screen at one time. Also a older power cord to a camera with a female to female USB adapter will give it a USB to plug stuff into directly onto the brick.

ADOR,
If you have four bricks you understand my issue. You have to set up the brick to match the settings on the display and you need a screen on the brick to do that. Luckily I have 6 new batteries for the two so I'm good with power but I need a way to set the brick up. Do you have more than one port replicator and would you be interested in selling one? This is just a nostalgia project, I thought it would be fun to get it up and running. Anyway let me know and if you know of any other way to set up the brick without a replicator let me know.

Hi All,
I just realized that this is an older post I put up a year ago. I put up a new post a few days ago asking about a port replicator for a CF-07 and it must have renewed this older post. As much as I'm hoping at some point to get the wireless screen to work with my CF-30 right now I'm just trying to get it to work with the CF-07 brick and from what I can see I need a port replicator to do that.

I get home from work Thursday. I will see what I can dig up. All of my units currently have XP on them. I was going to try 7 at one time just to see if I can get it to work. Haven't tried that cord and a USB boot on those units. But it works for storage in the OS.
