Gobi2000/GPS

#1 Post by FA7289 »

I initially assumed that the GPS signal in my CF-30MK3 was coming from the Gobi2000, but after removing the WWLAN sled it still works, so
it has a factory GPS. I see only one RF cable connector on the sled, so how would one use the Gobi2000 GPS ?

Thanks, Steve

Well after taking the sled apart, it becomes apparent why the GOBI with GPS really sucks, it has it's
own RF cable/Antenna wound up inside the sled. Maybe a second RF connector on the sled, hooked to
a decent antenna on the lid would have resulted in a usable GPS. Are they any other uses for the sled,
besides WWlan ?

Rambling thought's ,Steve
