Intel High Definition Audio driver fr Windows 7...

I upgraded my TB to Win7 back in April and all is fine - except I recently realized that there is no sound coming out of the speakers. I mostly use my earbuds when listening/watching so did not miss the normal system sounds. Everything is working except no sound except through the headphones - is this a driver problem ? Had sound with XP o/s...

Drivers problem,did you use an install disc or just a Win 7 disc? A combo of drivers will cause that problem.

If you post your full model number someone here will be able to sort out your no sound issues,
i.e. CF-30FCS80AM (note, this is just an example: Description: WinXP (Vista COA), Intel Core 2 Duo L7500 1.60GHz (Centrino), 13.3" XGA Touch, 80GB, 1GB, Intel 802.11a/b/g, TPM1.2, Bluetooth, Emissive Backlit Keyboard, Dual Pass (Upper:WWAN/Lower:GPS), GPS,Verizon EVDO Rev A, No Drive
As the Oregonian above said, it makes a difference how you upgraded/installed Win7 on your toughbook...

Model CF-52GCMBXAM, Installed Win7 Home Premium to new Hitachi 320GB, 7200RPM, 8MB, 2.5" SATA HDD. All drivers were up-dated via the internet and Microsoft automatically except the Intel Hi-Def. Everything works fine except no sound from speakers - headphone output, F5 & F6 keys control volume, no "?" or "!" in Device Manager. Everything else is stock, the way it was when purchased in 2008.
