SSD issues?

#1 Post by wyrm73 »

I have been noticing a few weird hanging issues with my CF-52 over a period of time and originally attributed it to the poor quality Internet I have right now. Then I noticed the same slight hanging issue while working on a local application. I opened up the tools provided by Corsair, and I am seeing uncorrectable errors, which as I understand ANY of these are bad and time to think about a new drive. Am I reading this right that I have had over 100?!? And is that as bad as I think it is?

My CF52G used to random hang.......Drove me nuts for quite a while.
I forget what the problem was...Maybe a driver? I wish I could recall but I can't.

I forget exactly when I bought it, but I know it is at least 2 years old. My main concern is if this is a drive going bad, I need to find a way to back up my data. Might just park this thing and use my CF-19 until I get home.

A raw read error is correctable, not uncorrectable. I'm no expert but doesn't sound like a big deal to me. I know spinner hard drives routinely get alot of raw read errors, spot them using checksums and re-read.

ETA: The Corsair app is saying the SSD is in good health. If it was a big deal there should be warnings.

Buy a Samsung or Intel SSD and never look back!
