The iso download is fairly quick...The updates from within Windows are slow.
I installed 64bit because I got a super deal on 8gb ram...$19.90 free ship for BOTH 4gb sticks.

I downloaded 64bit only because I have 16GB of memory installed and for anyone that has the extra $$$$ thinking about buying 16GB save your money. My 53 runs just as good and just as fast with 8GB. Could of saved myself about $160.00 :pat: Ok off to do the install. Wish me luck.

I used Custom when I tried W10. Custom lets you do a clean install.

Most of my gaming machines are 4 or 8 gb on the ram. I have two desktops running 16gb. The only time they dip down is when my oldest boy allocates that ram on some of his game design programs.

Here is a method to put W10 onto a USB drive and install from there. I used it to put W10 onto a USB stick and installed onto the CF-30MK3.

http://www.intowindows.com/install-wind ... usb-drive/

Going through the updates atm.

Anyone get GPS working? I have installed S&T2k13 but it can't find the GPS when it scans for it. Also, the mouse jumps around until the GPS is disabled in the BIOS. Installing the GPS reg patch for W7 had no effect.

It's shaping up nicely. Slow to install and update. But I am running a spinner HDD so it may be that some of the lag is that I am so used to SSD's in my other machines. I imagine the update servers are quite busy with everyone trying out the previews so that would slow downloads.
Huge improvement over Win8.1.
Story is official release end of July.
Free upgrade from Win7 and Win8..
Although if you're not activated or alternatively activated that status will be the same with the new OS.
And how is someone to get this "free upgrade?" 8)

I got an icon in my system tray today that invites me to sign up for the pre-order. I am debating it on this computer because several military websites I use don't even like Windows 8 yet, much less 10. I am thinking about updating all of the rest of my computers.
