Hi Everyone!

#1 Post by natescott90 »

Hey everybody my name is Nate, new to this forum but I'm typing this on my new toughbook! Been wanting one for years, but finally got my hands on a MK2 CF-30, full model number is CF-30F3SAXAM. My previous toughbooks include the CF-28 (both the CF-28P and CF-28S), and the CF-29 (my little brother has it). My old 28 got me through high school, and now I'm hoping the CF-30 will get me through college. I think it'll be great, since we all know these laptops live forever lol!

Nate... Welcome to the forum. Yes.. .That CF-30 should last you through college. If you can, max out the RAM and buy a SSD and will be shocked at the speed increase!
Rugged Toughbooks of all types... CF-31s, CF-30s, CF-29s, CF-19s, CF-52s, CF-53s, CF-74s, CF-H2... Hmmm... What else can I buy, build or modify?

Thanks guys! It's already got 4GB of ram in it, though the ssd is a good idea. Runs Windows 7 Pro like a champ! My only gripe is that the plastic cover that sits over the actual lcd screen has a crack in it, so I'll have to hunt down a new one. Maybe a backlit keyboard and gps while I'm at it.

On another note, does anyone know where to find the MP battery? Ebay and amazon don't have it.

Hey Springfield! I currently live in Cedar Rapids, IA and I'll be starting at Kirkwood Community College in January. Right now I'm going for an Associate of Applied Science Degree, mainly Computer Support Specialist. It'll be nice to get paid for tinkering with computers lol
