Anyone find that there is a almost a Toughbook addiction?

#1 Post by cheap4tw »

Hey all,

Well last year I bought my first CF-19 MK1. I bought it knowing it was a beater, the touch screen was bad, port covers missing etc, but I wanted to see if I liked toughbooks or not before committing real money to them.

Fast forward to today, I am building up a CF-19 MK4. When I bought the MK4 it came with an MK2 as well. Since then I've purchased another MK1 to pull a finger print reader from and now am buying an MK3 to pull the digitizer from. None of these have much money invested into them but looking now at my work station and seeing the stack of CF-19's... I think I may have a problem, lol.

You have joined the crowd! We all share this addiction. Right now, in my rental house with no shop, I am looking at 2 CF-52s, 3 CF-74s, 1 CF-19 and 5 CF-30s... This is just in my living room. I have another 10 CF-30s downstairs, a CF-H2, another CF-19, another CF-74, a CF-07 and more in boxes where I have lost count of what I have and won't know until my house gets built and I have a shop where I can unpack and set up.

I think my wife puts up with this because it keeps me home. I could be out carousing with women and hitting bars... But I'd rather take apart and fix a Toughbook. LOL
Rugged Toughbooks of all types... CF-31s, CF-30s, CF-29s, CF-19s, CF-52s, CF-53s, CF-74s, CF-H2... Hmmm... What else can I buy, build or modify?
