OT Extension Lead for Touch Panel OT

#1 Post by SHEEPMAN! »

Working on a Autel Automotive scanner and the Universal Touch Panel Lead (FPC) is about an inch too short. Does anyone know of a source for an extension? I'd send the 7" panel back but shipping is prohibitive time wise.
This FPC looks exactly like a connector on a Panasonic Touch Panel.
I'm searching but having terminology issues. I saw one a couple years ago a friend was using on a CF-19 China panel. I have room to stuff any spare cabling. IOW 4 to 6 inches would work.

Thanks,

Jeff

photo of cable?
dimensions?
number of pins?
writing on cable?
need to figure out pitch(distance between pins)
I have a small assortment of extended length cables

here's an example of an extension cable male to female

Shawn,
271016864464 (ebay number)
Dimensions are on the blue print. Where it says cable length 40...I have 32 on the one I got. I need 1/2 inch of slack unless I have to turn the cable upside down. Then a bit more.
Thought of trimming a slot in the mobo but that could get expensive if I hit a buried trace.
I'm not good at terminology but if it fits the four lead connector on a TSPCB it is correct. The Autel TS/LCD uses the slidie connector like a CF-19 not the springie one like a CF-29. (slidie and springie are technobabble) sic

The one i linked to is the same size and number of pins. It "should" work.

1.0mm pitch 4pins

alternatives

Toughbook(Rick) could probably solder a fpc cable directly to the short one.

See, nothing hard about metric. :D Looks like Shawn got his Metric PHD and didn't mention it, until now.

And if I had a green thingy, I would go to the docs and get a shot to clear that up! :D  That's about all the help I can offer. :)
