Have you ever seen the android X86 project? May be able to put a version that works for you on a windows laptop or tablet. I use to mess around with it years ago. I know it has been updated but haven't used it lately.

How do the integrated graphics compare with the 31 Mk5 to say a older 31 with ATI 7750? I think that was the last ATI card that went into toughbooks before the 54 got the business class card into it.

Is there any way you can do this with a express card adapter? For your needs? ( I think the 53 has that port but I haven't owned a 53 yet)

I know on a few windows 7 drivers before I had to use 7zip to unpack it, then manually upload it though device manager before it would take.

Does the model number on the sticker match the model number in the bios?

The earlier toughbook once the bulb starts getting old, the screen will have a red hew to it usually before going out. The 30 model never got the LED lights from the factory. All the 31 models did, and the 19 starting with the MK3.
