Re: Getting CF-29 MK4 to wake up from suspend state

Thank you for the review, a good refresher. As Linux gains popularity, the possibility of attracting new/more devs should increase. Maybe there should be a 'Go-Fund-Me' thing for Linux devs. Money is a good magnet for most people. Read through a bit of the Hurd FAQ. Interesting. Maybe I should try a...

Re: Getting CF-29 MK4 to wake up from suspend state

So if I read that right, you are implying that the underlying reason that suspend does not work in Linux is because it is basically as server OS with a GUI and that servers are never meant to be suspended. Okay, that makes sense to me, I can understand that but what I can't understand is that with a...

Suspend with Linux is not stellar but usable with other models.

That was not as positive a response as I was hoping for, especially from one of the top Linux Gurus.

Re: Getting CF-29 MK4 to wake up from suspend state

Hey Jeff, maybe you should add acpi_osi=Linux to your kernel boot. Too bad it was not as simple as that. :damnit: Six years down the road and I am not able to get suspend to work properly. I say properly because I can get the unit to suspend with no issues, using different methods (e.g: in terminal...

Tablet Button Binding

While I was on the MX Forum I saw a thread about an X61T Thinkpad user trying to get the screen rotate button, and the other buttons but mainly the rotate button, to work. Here is the link to the thread: https://forum.mxlinux.org/viewtopic.php?f=104&p=685798#p685798 I am going to try to get the ...

MX21, CF-29, Blank Screen

I have the screen set to blank instead of running a screensaver. Problem was that the desktop would not show when coming out of the blank screen. The pointer was visible, and worked, and the backlight was on. Found a fix on the MX Forum. https://forum.mxlinux.org/viewtopic.php?p=664466#p664466 Last ...

Re: The Toughbook FZ-40 is here!!

Not sure if it will work with the CF-30/31
How hard can it be to mod a couple of D-rings? :D

Thanks Rob

Re: The Toughbook FZ-40 is here!!

My demo is in the mail I'm told *eye roll*. Will report back as soon as I can. No promises lol. Thanks! Thanks Rob. Can you check price and availability on the following part number? FZ-VNS401U Edit It info says the part is compatible with the FZ-40 only, but I think it will work w/a CF-30/31's. En...

Re: The Toughbook FZ-40 is here!!

Michael, I don't know if that is the case or not. From the bits I scanned about Secure boot the impression I got was that it was another deal like UEFI, trying to keep Linux from being installed. That is why I am asking Rob to try and run a live Linux on his demo.

Re: 5G WWAN for CF-31?

Better than what I expected for hardware.

Why the "FZ" instead of "CF"?
