Re: walkie talkies
Thanks azrial, but i have no say in what my company gets unfortunately, they are the rt5r and the h777. I know they are junk (i go through the more than the rest there). But the head people order them and dont seem to care about quality. Per the radio company they claim they can be matched. I found...

Re: walkie talkies

Re: Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS Xenial Xerus & the CF31J (WARNING)
Wow, a lot been going on in the thread while I have been dealing with work related to the storm, and the miscreants that come show up after the blow. I have been just resetting Alsamixer each time, and that is a bit kludged. Thanks for all your efforts! And Jeff, you are correct there are a HUGE num...

Re: Android on ToughBook
I recently ran ReMix OS/Android x86 (64 bit) on a CF-31A. It is not supposed to run on the A, but did, with limited success. As soon as I find my spare HDD and carrier I will try it on my CF-31J. I do not want to risk more problems (Ubuntu 16.04...!) with my work PC, nor try a tripple boot. It will ...

Re: Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS Xenial Xerus & the CF31J (WARNING)
Here is what works. Note it is not Ubuntu 16.04. There is a line somewhere in 16.04 that resets alsa to defaults....I think it was in modprobe.d section. Too much information. This is unmodified alsamixer. From Mint 17.3 (upgraded).... I have AlsaMixer v1.1.0. I would be more then happy ...

Re: Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS Xenial Xerus & the CF31J (WARNING)
try sudo alsactl store Did not work, still was muited on start-up Also check for an auto-mute-mode setting in the mixer that should be disabled. I could not find this setting. When in alsamixer use right arrow. There's more there than meets the eye. Thanks, I found this link , which explains it all...

Re: Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS Xenial Xerus & the CF31J (WARNING)
Damn, it resets every time I reboot and I have no sound until I return to alsamixer and un-mute the headphones, even though I am listening on the built in speakers. I wonder if the settings for speaker and headphones are confused in this version of Ubuntu and because there is no headphone plugged in...
