Yeah I looked around a bit and one of the Mint guys said setting bios to defaults worked for him.
It's something I always do when installing new cards/ OS.
If ya have access to bios you can always change it back after the wireless wakes up.

Re: Linux Mint 18.3 on CF-19 wi-fi connecting issue
Did you run non-free drivers?....not sure how Mint does that now. Also codecs however that is handled. Intel may be blacklisted. Read about that. Is this a 8260 wireless card? Found to be problematic in my CF-54 MK2. $ dmesg | grep Intel [ 0.000000] Reserving Intel graphics memory at 0x00000000be000...

Re: Requirements for backlit keyboard
7 screws on a MK1.
2 in each keyboard bezel. 3 in silver plate.
There will be adhesive. Lift carefully giving the glue time to let loose.

Re: Linux Mint on the CF-31
I personally have steered away from Ubuntu since 11.04???? However:
Linux distros are easy to try out from liveUSB. If you don't like a distro just turn the computer off and it goes away.
I don't know why Ubuntu shouldn't work pretty much out-of-the-box.

Re: Upgrades on CF-31ATAAX2M
From all I have read you will need a CF-31 multi-drive. (CF-VDM311U) Note the part in the instructions where you need to use the "CDROM" faceplate. With CF-31 this includes the latch. Several people have used 16 GB ram....notably Azrial from this forum and Notebookreview. His signature men...
