Panasonic CF-25, free to a good home.

Works, but missing OS, a couple of covers. Has minor damage to the hinge covers. Hinges still work 100%. No power adaptor. Includes a slide-in floppy drive. Laptop is free, will make a decent parts machine. Just paypal me $15 to cover shipping. It's a heavy bugger! Best to reply to neill1234 (at) ya...

Re: Loading Ubuntu Linux on a CF-18

Want to give a warning to anyone trying to make their touchscreen work under Ubuntu if they have a Mk1 CF-18. I have followed the proceedure faithfully twice now as detailed in the first post on this thread. Both times after editing the xorg.conf file to bring it in line with the example xorg.conf f...

Re: Loading Ubuntu Linux on a CF-18

Well, I have the hotkeys working fine (again) after the reinstalation of everything. I don't have the nerves of steel necessary for the xorg.conf changes yet. I did faff around with the screen rotate instructions, and discovered a worrisome event. I carefully turned off, as suggested, the effects vi...

Re: Loading Ubuntu Linux on a CF-18

I have a Touchscreen CF-18, however i don't know how to tell whether it's a MK 1 or whatever (I suspect it is, based solely on it having the older Win2K COA sticker on the bottom, and that I remember it coming early in a list of CF-18 for driver downloads, and that it's the 900 Mhz model). It's mode...

Re: Loading Ubuntu Linux on a CF-18

Well, I got the Hotkeys working fine, the changed driver worked well this time. Then I did all the necessary Touchscreen work to get to this point: sudo cp /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf.bak sudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf But I must have done something terribly wrong editing, then saving the x...

Re: Loading Ubuntu Linux on a CF-18

When trying to install the Hotkey Driver: Unfortunately, when I try this: enter the pcc-acpi-0.9 directory (cd pcc-acpi-0.9) and run the following commands: make I get an error: cannot stat pcc_acpi.ko: No such file or directory. Then if I (nevertheless) follow with: sudo make install I get an error...
