Re: 2015 Linux and the Live CD List

...dod.mil/lipose.htm ..."Lightweight Portable Security (LPS)... I have to bite my tongue here to not get overly sarcastic  So just an innocent rhetorical question: Where on a trust level scale from 0 to 10 would a security minded individual put a software product put together by a us g...

Re: What does the lid have to do with it?

From the Navigatrix site, here's some lite reading: http://navigatrix.net/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=481 http://navigatrix.net/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=640 :salute: Thanks for the input :) I did read through these threads but couldn't find any new tweaks. In fact I had the receiver up and running after...

Re: What does the lid have to do with it?

Welcome to the soiree. Did my new avatar attract you? :) You get what you ask for at best. A bat shaped light to the sky may bear other results than a picture of fluffy sheep on a green meadow. You gotta play with the cards you receive, so fleecy powers to the rescue! :salute: Though for the screen...

Re: CF-31 thermal management issue

To celebrate the creation of the Linux subforum (where this thread might be better-placed), I gleefully declare the above problem as no longer existent since running a 3.8-kernel!

And only the best wishes for the new year to all of you :)

Re: CF-31 thermal management issue

Kubuntu 12.04.2 LTS. Kernel version according to Ubuntu nomenclature is 3.2.0-xx, but with backported upstream patches. If I recall correctly, this is the first LTS release with rolling kernel upgrades, not just security patches. In fact I've seen some indication the problem might have already been ...

Re: CF-31 thermal management issue

Cause for problem narrowed down... Luckily it's not hardware related. :) ADOR's reply made me again tweak the governor settings for the CPU (lower freqency) in linux with only little improvement. But this time this did raise my suspicions. So I took the time to try out CS in win7 and everything was ...

CF-31 thermal management issue

Hello everyone :) Rob suggested to me to ask for opinions around here concerning an issue I have. After having purchased a new CF-31JCGAX1M (i5-2520M; no ATI) from Rob a couple of months ago (excellent customer sevice btw), I can say that I am overall very pleased with the CF-31. Things I'm still a ...
